Overview - Director Position
The Mason County Chamber of Commerce thrives as a dynamic, expanding network of businesses and non-profits. Offering a rich array of networking, events, and educational opportunities, the Director leads efforts to provide unwavering support to diverse organizations. This role demands a versatile professional, adept as the organization’s ambassador and skilled in financial analysis and strategic planning to ensure sustained success.

Primary Accountabilities
Business
• Serves as the Director for the Mason County Chamber of Commerce.
• Manages Chamber business within the framework of an established budget developed and approved by the Board of Directors, including managing Chamber income and expenses to achieve annual budgeted net income goals and approving all financial disbursements for the Chamber.
• Oversees all aspects of the Chamber Office and Building, ensuring the operation of the Masons Visitor Center five to six days a week depending on the season.
• Directly manages Chamber office operations, including running payroll, managing schedules, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable with assistance from the CPA.
• Provides supervision over work performed for the Chamber by employees, volunteers, vendors, etc.
• Provides strategic analysis of Chamber operations, continually evaluating for profitability.
• Acts as a liaison between the Mason County Chamber and the City and County attending Commissioners Meetings as needed.
• Provides customer service to Chamber members and the general public.
• Provides customer service to visitors of the Masons Visitors Center.
Membership
• Actively engages the Mason business and non-profit community as a brand ambassador for the Chamber, promoting the benefits of a Chamber membership and responding to the needs of member businesses, resulting in new members joining the Chamber and retention of existing members.
• Continually assesses Chamber efforts to engage and provide value to Chamber membership, generating new ideas and initiatives to ensure expectations and interests of members are being met.
Events
• Plans and maintains the Chamber master event calendar for major Chamber-sponsored events, Ribbon Cuttings, Board of Directors meetings, and Board Officer meetings.
• Secures sponsorships for all Chamber events and meetings that require sponsorships.
• Oversees the event planning and execution of all Chamber events, including scheduling, logistics, recruiting volunteers, sponsorships, advertising, maintaining budget, etc.
Marketing
• Oversees Chamber social media activities via Facebook, Instagram, and other appropriate social media channels.
• Oversees maintenance and content of the Chamber website.
• Serves on Board of Directors Committees as a liaison or as otherwise directed by the Board.
Minimum Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’ s Degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Competent use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required; experience with Growth Zone is a plus.
Work Experience: 2 or more years in event planning and 2 or more years managing a business, experience with a non-profit is strongly preferred.
Benefits
The Mason County Chamber of Commerce offers base salary, bonus opportunity, 13 paid holidays, 1 week paid for the first year (after 6 months of employment) and 2-week paid vacation for 2+ years. There are also 5 comp days for Mason County Chamber hosted events: (1 day) Awards Banquet, (2 days) Roundup Festival and Parade, (2 days) Wild Game Dinner. This is a full-time position. Must live in Mason County, this is not a remote position.
